I wish this were more of an official move by Microsoft to push DirectX to run natively on these platforms. Nonetheless, I'm glad this is happening.
Even though Wine and CrossOver are fairly stable software products now, I'd still like to see the day where we can run native DX applications on multiple platforms. Wine and CrossOver still have their shortcomings. Will a native port ever happen? Maybe. Soon? Probably not.
Well, we're talking about a company who did everything they could to keep DirectX 10 on Vista, so that people would upgrade, so I doubt we'll be seeing native support for it anytime soon.
